Qualification

Essential

  • Registered RNLD/RMN/HCPC Registered Speech & Language Therapist/HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
  • Membership of the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)/ HCPC

Desirable

  • Post registration experience
  • Post-graduate training relevant to specialist area

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of transforming care and how this applies to community settings
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support approaches

Desirable

  • Awareness of complex case management including CPA and risk management
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to the job role i.e. MHA, MCA

Experience

Essential

  • Experience (as a student or qualified) within an LD community team/ Intensive Support Team
  • Experience of working with people with a LD and/or ASD
  • Experience of working with people with challenging behaviour.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in crisis situations.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health needs.
  • Experience of positive behaviour support
  • Previous experience of transforming care

  • Ability to build effective working relationships internally and externally to the organisation.
  • Abilities to work autonomously and set own priorities under supervision of a band 6 Lead Nurse.
  • Ability to write care plans, risk assessments and reports.
