Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Adults of Working Age Community Services.You will be part of a friendly multi-disciplinary team and be expected to care coordinate a diverse caseload with support from more experienced members of the team. We would also welcome newly qualified staff as the team are committed to supporting the development of all new staff.

The Service is currently moving towards a new way of working in line with changes set out by the NHS Community Mental Health Framework.

The New Living Well Teams will aim to make it easier for everyone to get the right support, easily, in their local community. It will make sure different professionals and organisations work closely together to provide more seamless support, avoiding repetition. It will improve the experience for people to access support and to live the life they want to live.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a forward-thinking practitioner who can work towards working more independently. The development of excellent communication skills is key along with working along-side the wider multi-professional team, families and carers and develop links with non-statutory services.The successful candidate will need to develop their knowledge in all types of mental illness and disorders, risk assessment, have a working understanding of the CPA process and NICE guidance.The successful candidate can expect to work within a friendly, professional and committed team, receive regular supervision and have training opportunities in order to meet revalidation and continued professional development.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of the principles of CPA (Care Programme Approach) where appropriate
  • Awareness of Nursing assessments and interventions and outcome measures, relevant to client group
  • Ability to travel across a large geographical area without compromising service delivery
