Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialty Doctor to join and be an integral be part of the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment team for the city of Derby.

This is a full-time post, within a pan-Derbyshire Team, that provides alternatives to hospital admission for patients experiencing acute mental health problems.

You will be supporting our consultant, Dr Mathew Joseph and a well-established team of psychiatric nurses, NMPs and Occupational Therapists.

Strong administrative support underpins the team and there are robust linkages with inpatient, liaison and community services.

Junior doctor supervision and undergraduate teaching are core components of the post.

The post is based within the Kingsway hospital site, which includes in-patient wards, Cherry Tree unit and Ashbourne unit.

Kingsway site possesses dedicated car parking.

The general hospital (Royal Derby) is on the adjoining site and is only one mile away.

Main duties of the job

This post, along with two consultant posts, provides medical input into South Derbyshire Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service (CRHT).

This is a permanent post supported by regular consultant supervision and appraisal.

This is a well-established team with a wealth of CRHT experience.

The post will facilitate dedicated medical time to CRHT Services. This will continue to support the Team in providing a high-quality Home Treatment Service, with the aim of avoiding unnecessary admissions.

The post holder will be an integral part of the team and will give the majority of their time to providing the non-consultant medical input to the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service in Derby city.

He/she will be involved in home assessments and visits and will also see patients in a variety of locations in the community.
