Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a newly established Team within the Children and Young People's (CYP) IAPT Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, covering Derby City and South Derbyshire.
The post holder will hold a professional registration, equivalent to that of a registered Nurse, Social worker or Occupational Therapist.
The post holder will work in the CAMHS Urgent Care and Assessment Services Pathway, specifically the Triage and Assessment Team.
The Triage and Assessment Team offers Triage calls to children and Young People on the CAMHS Waiting List as well as concise initial assessment & plan formulation to children and young people presenting with mental health difficulties, with the aim of preventing long term stays within service.
The post holder would be expected to contribute to the Triage calls and initial assessment clinics.
The successful candidate will have a small caseload of up to 3 complex cases at any one time for up to a maximum period of 6 weeks to offer care co-ordination and risk management where needed, be a part of the duty rota and work alongside the wider CAMHS service.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with children and young people in assessing and formulating a robust plan of care for their mental health difficultiesguided by IAPT compliant C&YP interventions in line with national guidelines and adhere to the DH National Programme and session by session outcome measures.
The post holder will act as a role model to assist in the embedding of outcome measures (ROM) and outcome orientated practice in the team.
The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary pathway team (MDT) for children and young people who present with severe mental illness, acute and complex presentations including mental health concerns who have traditionally found it difficult to access service (ie looked after children, young offenders, young people with alcohol and substance issues).
In accordance with national and local priorities, and clinical guidelines the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.
