Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity to be part of a comprehensive Business Intelligence service in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS FT.

This is a senior role within the team responsible for delivering a high quality provision of information to internal and external stakeholders.

As a Principal Analyst in the Business Intelligence Team you will be expected to undertake complex analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of health information in a fast paced environment.

You will also assist in ensuring that all mandatory submissions are made within the required deadlines to a high standard of quality and provide a responsive service for "ad hoc" information requests.

As a senior member of the team, you will work with/support/line manage other team analysts in the delivery of a high quality service to the Trust and external stake holders.

You will also contribute to collaborative initiatives across the Information Management, Technology & Patient Records Department and wider organisation.

Please note: there are 2 roles on offer; one is permanent and the second is a 24 month fixed term contract.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will:

  • Provide an effective information service that converts data into business and commissioning intelligence that informs strategic planning, contract management, and supports service delivery and clinical practice for both the organisation and wider healthcare system.
  • Use technical skills to extract, automate and analyse data for trends in order to support the performance of the Trust.
  • Investigate and resolving complex system and data quality issues.
  • Produce, develop and present of a range of high quality healthcare information.
  • Support/line manage other analysts in the delivery of a high quality service to the Trust and external stake holders.
  • Lead high profile Business Intelligence related projects.
  • Have highly-developed technical skills in SQL, Excel and other Business Intelligence software, eg SSRS/Reporting Services. They will need to be capable of manipulating information as well as the ability to summarise complex information and articulate what it represents.

  • Assist with the compilation and submission of Commissioning reports and Key Performance Indicators to the highest standards of quality and according to nationally and locally agreed deadlines.

  • Higher Degree or advanced certificates in IM&T
