Job summary

We are pleased to announce that we have two band 7 Speech and Language Therapy positions to join our wonderful Adult Neurodevelopmental Team across Derbyshire.

We are looking for individuals who share our strong value based approach and have a highly specialist understanding of the support needs of people with a Learning Disability and/or Autism. This covers service users both in Community and Inpatient Settings.

These posts include the operational management and leadership of the Speech and Language Therapy Team, alongside the other operational managers.

Individuals will have strong communication skills and be a valued member of a team who aim to support service users.

Job One: Based in Derby and South Derbyshire Locality

0.6 WTE Clinical Operational Manager for the Community Speech and Language Therapy in South Derbyshire.

0.4 WTE Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working with individuals with a diagnosis of Learning Disability and/or Autism in the Radbourne or Hartington Units (adult inpatient mental health units).

Job Two: Based in Ash Green Learning Disability Service in Chesterfield

0.6 WTE Clinical Operational Manager for the Community Speech and Language Therapy in North Derbyshire.

0.4 WTE Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working into Hillside (Learning Disability Assessment and Treatment Inpatient Unit).

Main duties of the job

Derbyshire Healthcare Speech and Language Therapy team has two exciting opportunities for experienced and innovative Speech and Language Therapists, with dysphagia experience, to provide highly specialist clinical interventions, working with adults with learning disabilities across community and inpatient settings.

Our Speech and Language Therapy team focusses on person centred care, and aims to deliver excellent care to our service users, their families and carers, using interventions that are evidenced-based and outcome-measured.

Working across Derby and South Derbyshire, and predominantly holding a small complex clinical caseload, the post holder will work across the community/inpatient settings, delivering highly specialist assessment and intervention, working closely with service users and their carers and other professionals in Health and Social Care.

Alongside clinical work, the post holder will be required to provide operational management to the Speech and Language Team, and will interface with other clinical operational managers across the Neurodevelopmental Service.
