You will join us at an exciting time as the team continues to expand and develop into its third year, consisting of a cohesive and supportive multi- disciplinary team.

You will have operational management for Forensic Community Mental Health Team and will be at the forefront of the ongoing development of this newly formed and innovative team. The team whilst holding their own caseload also provide support to the wider trust in relation to the care and management of Forensic patients so internal networking is pivotal. Additionally due to the nature of the service group and also the recently formed provider collaborative IMPACT you will also engage in extensive external networking.

The team have presented at the recent East Midlands Community Forensic Team CPD event where the model and ethos of the team was complimented on and generated a great deal of interest.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide operational management to the staff, manage the service key performance indicators, hold budget responsibility for the Service and play a key role in promoting the service and engaging with local partners and key stakeholders.

The post holder will be well supported by operational management peers, a Clinical Lead for the Service Line and the Area Service Manager. The job may be subject to review as part of your appraisal and service development.

The post holder will manage all aspects of the daily functioning of the Community Team.

  • This will include the following; recruitment and selection of staff, induction, training, supervision and appraisals, sickness and other absence, contribute to disciplinary and grievance processes, personal and career development, the teams workload, managing and overseeing waiting lists, allocation and individual caseload management.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the management, health and safety and maintenance of the building in which the team is based.

  • Undertake delegated responsibilities, ensuring systems are in place to effectively manage resources.
  • Work in conjunction with Area Service Manager to challenge existing practice and initiate improvement in services to meet the needs of patients and achieve corporate and national objectives.

  • Ensure complaints are dealt with in accordance with the complaints procedure and action is taken to reduce likelihood of reoccurrence.

  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to Trust safety policies and procedures for the area within your remit.
