Job summary
We are recruiting 2 WTE Hi Intensity IAPT CBT therapists to offer Step 3 treatments across Derbyshire.
Talking Mental Health Derbyshire delivers high quality clinical care within a compassionate approach which values the dignity of service users and promotes choice.
We promote wellbeing and recovery and help service users to take responsibility for lifestyle choices, risk taking and self- management of mental wellbeing.
Due to current Covid 19 levels most of our clinicians are working remotely. We envisage this will continue for a period of time and when we do get back to face-to-face treatments, the posts will remain as a blend of face-to-face and remote working.
Applicants will need to be willing to work via telephone and/or video platforms as part of their employment as well as offering face-to-face treatments from bases as needed.
Main duties of the job
- Accept referrals via agreed protocols
- Assess clients for suitability for CBT
- Make decisions on suitability of new referrals
- Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes either face to face or using telephone and/ or video platforms
- Work with people to understand their personal difficulties
- To exercise autonomous responsibility for the assessment and treatment of clients
- Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings where appropriate
- Maintain accurate records in line with service protocols
- Work within the stepped care approach for IAPT services
- Consider the wider determinants of health and mental health for patients
- Carry our clinical audits as necessary
- Liaise, advise and consult with wider health and social care staff
- Deliver CBT groups where appropriate
- Maintain professional and clinical standards

This is a great opportunity to work with a committed, high quality clinical team in a rapidly changing service which has established itself as one of the largest providers of talking therapy in Derbyshire.
You will be employed by Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, the lead provider within Talking Mental Health Derbyshire. We work in partnership with other Talking Therapy Providers from Derwent Rural Counselling Services, IESO and Relate.
You will provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a blend of remote therapy via video and face-to-face where buildings allow.
The post holder will work with clients who have a range of Anxiety and Depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.
Talking Mental Health Derbyshire provides a client centred service which promotes wellbeing, recovery and personal responsibility for lifestyle choices, risk taking and self- management of mental wellbeing.
