Job summary
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the leadership team within the Mental Health Helpline and Support Service in Derbyshire.
The team promotes a dynamic and innovative way of working, triaging and responding to crisis referrals.
The role encompasses the NHS principle; right care, right time and right place.
The crisis mental health support line is a collaborative service working together with Voluntary, Community and Social enterprise (VCSE) partners and offers an all age all need service.
The service triages mental health crisis calls and referrals, providing tele-coaching psychologically informed interventions, support, guidance and signposting.
The service further delivers timely and responsive face to face assessments where indicated, working closely with Emergency Services colleagues across Derbyshire and Derby City.
The service is still very new and developing and provides employees the opportunity to be involved in a new innovative way of working to support those experiencing mental health crisis.
Main duties of the job
As a service we are looking for an individual with leadership experience, someone who can work at pace and continue to support the developments of the service as it grows.
The service has received considerable investment, and with this investment comes an emphasis to provide an effective and responsive service providing safe care.
We are looking for an individual who shows compassion and who is engaging and focussed on service user and carer satisfaction as well as someone who is able to support a team through challenges and change as the service continues to be developed and evaluated.
As service manager you will also be working alongside 4 band 7 Clinical Leads in the team.
The role will also include taking a lead and participating in monitoring the service at defined intervals, and assisting in the making of recommendations regarding this team.
You will be involved and at times provide training, presentations and seminars to staff to promote the service developments.
You will provide supervision and support to the CORE team and support the Area Service Manager in the on-going development of the service.
You will also work with and be supported by the Area Service Manager as well as from colleagues across the Assessment Services line.
The assessment services team include 4 Crisis services in South Derbyshire, North Derbyshire and High Peak, 2 Liaison Teams based in the Emergency Departments in Chesterfield and Derby, and links in with the Health Based Place of Safety.
