Job summary

This is an exciting time to join Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as anOccupational Therapist! Our South Derbyshire and South Dales Adult CommunityMental Health Team (based in Swadlincote and Ashbourne respectively) are lookingfor two enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapists to join their friendly andsupportive teams.You will be involved in service development and quality improvement projects as wedevelop OT pathways across the organisation, build links with our partnershiporganisations in the community, develop our Individual Placement Support serviceand grow our peer support services as we embed the Community Mental HealthFramework across our teams.You will ideally need to have relevant experience of working with individuals with arange of mental ill - health, preferably in a community setting.The work will involve managing Occupational Therapy referrals into the team,assessing adults of working age with mental ill-health who live within their localcommunity to identify their occupational needs, designing and implementing person- centred interventions to support them in their recovery and evaluating theirprogress. This will include designing and facilitating both face to face and onlinegroups and liaison with partnership agencies in the community.You will need to have the ability to travel across the geographical area.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to manage a diverse caseload and work closely with the multi -disciplinary team, giving you the opportunity to work with CPNs, Psychiatrists,Psychologists, Employment Specialists and Non - Medical Prescribers.You will utilise the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) assessments that are usedtrust wide and will receive support and training in this.You will be part of the wider Occupational Therapy Community in DerbyshireHealthcare, contributing to CPD events, practice development opportunities andworkforce development. You will be involved in recruitment of staff and thedevelopment of our support staff.You will supervise the Occupational Therapy assistant.
