This role requires a confident autonomous practitioner to work within a busy Community Mental Health Team, adhering to Professional Code of Conduct and supporting the team with key quality and performance indicators, including improving the patient experience and operational and clinical standards.

Attainment/Qualifications

Essential

• Professional qualification, e.g. RMN, OT pharmacist and relevant registration
• Non-medical prescribing qualification - as an independent prescriber
• Education to degree level or equivalent experience
• Teaching and assessing training (ENB 998).

Desirable

• Clinical supervision course

Work

Essential

• Substantial experience of community MDT working.
• Mental Health Experience
• CPD relevant to current post.
• Substantial experience of assessing and prescribing treatments for mental health problems.
• Recent and considerable experience of working as an independent prescriber.
• Substantial and considerable experience in assessing people with an acute mental health disorder and prescribing for this group
• Can evidence having undertaken and facilitated research and audits that contribute to governance, service development and service planning.

Desirable

• Relevant clinical courses
• Experience of prescribing for adult people
• Experience of working with people who use alcohol and drugs

Knowledge

Essential

• Current knowledge and understanding of a wide variety mental health needs and ability to demonstrate clinical competence.
• Can evidence knowledge of effective risk assessment.
• Knowledge of the principles of recovery based practice
• Knowledge of Adult and Children's Safeguarding requirements/legislation and how these apply to the role
• Knowledge of CQC Compliance Audits
• Understanding of Equality and Diversity issues and their application in a healthcare setting
