Job summary

This is a newly created opportunity for CAMHS Nurse/Practitioner to join the newly commissioned CAMHS Day Service.

The specialist day provision is a new part of the CAMHS service and will provide intensive packages of person centred interventions to young people who may be at risk of admission to a Tier 4 inpatient unit without increased support. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily coordination of the day service, manage referrals to the service and complete the rostering element of the day service. The day service will offer group & individual work, MDT reviews, respite to families & carers and be supporting young people with a range of difficulties at any one time.

You will be part of the regular team clinical supervision processes as well as being able to access regular and frequent individual supervision.

There is a lot of scope for personal and professional development within the service.

Main duties of the job

  • To coordinate the delivery of high quality day service support for young people and their families, utilising knowledge and skills for interpretation, analysis of patients' needs and care planning.
  • To promote and conform to the Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Policy and Procedure for safeguarding children, and national guidelines.
  • To ensure effective joint working between agencies and professionals and effective information sharing to safeguarding children and young people.
  • To have an understanding of, coordinate the deliver of and provide a range of interventions such as family work, solution focussed therapy, cognitive therapy, behavioural management, individual counselling and group work. To access supervision to support practice development.
  • To liaise with other professionals, offer consultation and joint working to provide early interventions in and prevention of mental health problems in young people.
  • To develop effective care pathways for children and young people.
  • To work within the Multi-Disciplinary pathway team to offer and access supervision and support to ensure good practice.
  • To practice and demonstrate knowledge that promotes child protection and the rights of the child.

There will be an emphasis upon working with complex presenting difficulties and multi-agency networks.
