Job summary

We are seeking to recruit Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to work as part of our IAPT primary care service in Derbyshire. These are exciting opportunities to work with a committed, high quality clinical team in a rapidly changing service which has established itself as one of the largest providers of talking therapy in Derbyshire.

The post holders will be part of Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service known as Talking Mental Health Derbyshire. We work in partnership with Counsellors from Derwent Rural Counselling Services, Relate and IESO digital health.

Post holders need to be registered with BABCP or BPS, or working towards registration.

Main duties of the job

As a service we offer both telephone and face to face assessment appointments in a number of locations covering the whole of Derbyshire and Derby city. The post holders will provide Step 2 guided self-help interventions through a stepped-care treatment model to people with depression and anxiety disorders.

This is high volume work using low intensity interventions and you will receive excellent support in this role, including extensive clinical and caseload supervision. There is a requirement to be flexible to ensure that we are able to offer a service in all the locations we cover and to be able to work under pressure.

You will work with people from differing cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Post holders may be required to work in various locations throughout Derbyshire including (but not limited to): Derby City, Long Eaton, Ilkeston, Swadlincote, Ashbourne, Ripley, Belper, Alfreton, Bakewell, Buxton, High Peak, and Chesterfield. The post holders will be employed by Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust.

Please be aware that due to covid restrictions, a significant part of this role is currently remote working from home.
