Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced mental health nurse, nurse from other backgrounds with mental health experience, social worker or OT into the CAMHS Community Care Pathway, working with children and young people up to the age of 18.

The Community Care Pathway works with children and young people with a range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, neuro-developmental conditions and self harm.

We have access to specific therapies within CAMHS including CBT, Family Therapy and DBT.

The posts would predominantly be to cover the Amber Valley Area.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be supported to develop knowledge and skills in working systemically with children and families within our experienced, multi-disciplinary teams.

We welcome applications from mental health nurses currently working with adults who want to develop a career within CAMHS.

Through robust supervision and training opportunities, we will aim to develop your knowledge, skills and experience within a CYP IAPT Service.

The service is a locality-based model, which ensures strong team working and high levels of locality knowledge.

The team is supported by a Team Manager and Non Medical Prescriber, who work as senior clinicians within the team.

CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all interventions offered.

The Recovery team has bases in Derby City, Amber Valley and a team across Erewash and South Derbyshire.

In accordance with national and local priorities, clinical guidelines, the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.

As a Lead Nurse / Practitioner the post holder will work in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice in assessment, case management, care co-ordination and treatment.

They will be required to ensure that the best evidence-based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.

There will be an emphasis upon working with complex-presenting difficulties and multi-agency networks.
