Job summary

We are seeking applications from experienced Registered Nurses or Occupational Therapists who have a professional first level clinical qualification, educated to degree level, with previous Band 6 experience within mental health (usually equating to three years). CAMHS experience is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will work towards gaining an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, resulting in a senior position within the clinical leadership team, working closely with identified Consultant supervisors and paid at Band 8a on successful completion. Course Duration: 36 months; Full time - 37.5 hours

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing T ACP programme. This will be the second cohort from our CAMHS service.

The successful candidate will be leaving their substantive post to proceed with the TACP programme, and as such, although the Trust will endeavour to find alternative employment at the candidate's previous substantive banding should the trainee fail to complete the course, there is no guarantee this will occur.

Main duties of the job

Please find details of the next ACP course at the Sheffield Hallam University, which is due to start in January 2023.

The basic outline of the programme is as follows:

  • You will follow a generic pathway for year 1- APACs- 30 credits & a Pharmacology module- 30 credits
  • It is in year 2 that you will then choose the mental health pathway as your elective modules
  • Advanced assessment, formulation and treatment planning in mental health- 30 credits
  • Advanced intervention & evaluation in mental health - 15 Credits
  • In Year 3 - 45 credit dissertation

Progression to a qualified ACP on successfully completing the programme.

Commitment:

Candidates must be aware that this is a full-time course, and consideration of this is essential before applying. University attendance will be on set days, and you will work clinically as a Trainee ACP on the days you are not at university.
