Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Lead Nurse to join Ward 34.

The successful post holder will be part of a friendly, forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary team which provides care for male patients of working age only.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take an active role in the leadership of this diverse, multi-disciplinary team.

The team provides 24 hour inpatient support and help to service users with a variety of mental health problems.

Other difficulties may include poor response to treatment, frequent relapse, repeated admissions to acute services and dealings with the criminal justice system, substance misuse, crisis and MHLT.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a leadership team that drives standards both clinically and operationally.This would include deputising for the Senior Nurse in their absence.

You will be driving change and offering assurance that our care meets the standards not only expected of us, but that our patients deserve.

The post holder will be responsible for establishing operational and clinical service mechanisms that support safe and high quality care throughout the twenty-four hour period.

The post holder will be part of our bleep-holder role on a rota basis, which lends itself to bed management, and support of the wider unit.

The post holder will be expected to take responsibility for supporting nursing team, working within governance processes to support the implementation of individualised and responsive care.

  • RN part 3/13
  • Educated to Diploma level or above. (or Equivalent).
  • Evidence of Personal Professional Development Plan
  • Can Demonstrate *post registration clinical experience of core competencies

Desirable

  • Supervision training or willingness to complete.
  • Mentorship training or equivalent or willingness to complete.

Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead a multi professional workforce.
