Job summary

The Pharmacy Department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is integral to delivering safe and effective medication management for patients. We invite applications from motivated and adaptable Pharmacists to join our inpatient hospital pharmacy team. While prior hospital pharmacy experience isadvantageous, it is not essential; pharmacists from other sectors are encouraged to apply, as this position provides valuable exposure to a hospital setting.

This role offers flexible working hours, including potential weekend shifts, to accommodate varied schedules and complement existing commitments.

Appointment banding will bedeterminedbased on relevant experience. Applicants are requested to specify their level of experience and areas of competence within their application.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities:

• Medicines reconciliation

• Reviewing inpatient prescriptions

• Participating in multidisciplinary ward rounds

• Facilitating patient discharge

• Providing education to patients

• Comprehensive training will be provided, enabling you to clinically screen andmonitorprescriptions, make interventions, and order medications using our electronic prescribing system.

We are dedicated to education and professional development and encourage/support ongoing education. We have a very favourable oncall commitment, that all pharmacists in the department contribute to.
