Consultant general anaesthetist
Busy DGH environment with responsibility to the Emergency Service on call
Supported by 19 Consultants, 3 Middle Grades and 3 Anaesthetic Associates (2 more in training)
Supported by currently 41 Trainees
1 in 16 on call rota.
Responsibility to Maternity Services whilst on call
Operating lists in ENT, Major Head and Neck Cancer, Dental surgery, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Orthopaedics, General surgery, Breast Surgery, Urological Surgery Including Nephrectomy, Maternity, Gynaecology, Colorectal Surgery, Benign upper GI surgery
Paediatric surgery held weekly on Thursdays
Preoperative assessment, Cardiopulmonary exercise testing
Acute and Chronic pain.
Implantable Continuous Venous Access devices
Main duties of the job
Clinical
10 PA contract
1.7 PA for on call
1.5 Core SPA
6.8 Clinical PAs to include 0.5 PA for admin, pre and post op visiting
2.5 clinical days per week 8am to 6PM
