Job summary
This full-time job combines gaining 'on the job' experience whilst undertaking the Podiatry Degree Apprenticeship Programme with the University of Salford. The honours degree programme extends over 3 academic years and involves face to face academic learning whilst working as a Podiatry Support Worker. Following completion of the apprenticeship, candidates are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and become a qualified Podiatrist.

The Therapies Directorate has a robust support network and a strong focus on continuous professional development, supervision of staff and individualised job plans. The starting salary of our Physiotherapy Degree Apprentices will be at a Band 3. On completion of 2 years of the programme apprentices will be eligible for a Band 4 salary once all competencies are complete.

Please note that applicants must be able to evidence attainment of Maths and English GCSE Grade A-C/4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2.
Main duties of the job
This post includes all duties associated with the running and delivery of the clinical team in which the post is based, including acute ward-based work, out-patient clinics or the domiciliary setting
The post holder will be provided with a robust induction and ongoing support and training throughout the role both via the podiatry service as well as the wider multidisciplinary team. Candidates should be able to demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm for patient care and evidence of previous acute healthcare experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as experience of working within a team.
