Job summary

To provide a general clerical support for the Ophthalmic secretaries and consultants. To facilitate audio-transcription of clinic letters, results and discharge letters, and to provide a general clerical service and support throughout the department.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing cross cover during periods of staff absence.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ophthalmology Department for a Medical Support Secretary to provide administrative support to a team of medical secretaries and their respective consultant and clinical teams.Previous experience of working within an administrative setting along with experience of audio typing is essential.We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is able to follow instruction, work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The maintenance of patient confidentiality and excellent customer care skills are essential to this post.

  • ECDL or equivalent demonstrable skills

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working in a secretarial role in the NHS
