Job summary
This is an exciting time to join our team and potentially be part of our new service development. We are very fortunate to have a brand new Emergency Village. This will give staff a chance to work in a state of the art emergency department that's modern and fit for purpose. The ED will have excellent facilities offering you a chance to work at the triage or inthe rapid assessment and treatment zone side to side with a Senior Decision Maker. Or wouldyou prefer to work in the adrenaline filledzone of the 6 bedded ER with a dedicated paediatric resus bay?
It is not common to join an Emergency Department with continuous senior support and supervision with granted consultant support in each area of the department for at least 16 hours a day. The camaraderie that you would enjoy with your colleagues from other specialities and within the department in a restful staff room would go a long way! Furthermore, you could be a part of reputable organisation with the EV designed to be a model of excellence.
You will be responsible for ensuring all patients receive rapid assessment, treatment and clinical decision making whilst ensuring quality and safety are delivered and sustained and undertake reception, resuscitation, diagnosis, and initial treatment of all emergencies as appropriate.

Main duties of the job
- As a dependent medic undertake patient consultations, assessments, clinical examinations, order appropriate investigations and interpret investigation findings
- Form a list of differential diagnoses, recommend management/treatment for discussion with and sign off by a clinical supervisor
- Take responsibility for a dedicated patient caseload
- Maintain timely and appropriate documentation
- Contribute to the development of efficient pathways of care
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, support and contribute to timely discharge planning where appropriate
- Ensure the provision of a high standard of care at all times
- Build effective networks with other teams and other organisations, working in collaboration to support efficient patient care
- Management of timely patient flow for your patients with specific reference to both local and national standards
- Work closely with the nursing team to ensure patient care is maintained and all trust policies and procedures are adhered to
- To be aware of the content of the trust major Incident Plan and be able to carry our relevant roles as determined by the plan
- Provide cross cover for clinical duties when colleagues are absent to maintain service delivery
- Be proactive in ensuring all patients receive rapid assessment, treatment and clinical decision making whilst ensuring quality and safety are delivered and sustained
- Teaching, administrative and audit duties as directed by the Head of Department / Consultant on Call
