Job summary
- The Receptionist will act as a first point of contact for patients wishing to access Community Health Services and will signpost patients to alternative service providers as appropriate.
- Provide Front of House Reception Services and also a full administrative support to all clinical teams based and visiting the centre.
- Be able to travel to other sites to provide cover as needed to support the wider service.
- The post holder will be required to possess a pleasant manner, good communication and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
- To be the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the Health Centre, ensuring a professional manner at all times. This may include more general enquiries.
- Undertake reception duties providing an efficient and helpful service which communicates with individual patients and Trust staff to aid the smooth running of the services.
- Respond to all external and internal telephone and email enquiries coming into the Community Reception. Monitoring and responding to the shared generic email account at your work site.
- Ensuring accurate messages are forwarded by telephone or electronically to the correct areas/persons. This will include dealing with people with concerns and complaints.
- To handle any comments and complaints in a calm and professional manner using empathy, when needed and directing to Line Manager as necessary.
- Ensure that the office procedures are periodically updated to reflect changes to the services provided.
