Job summary

Interested in specializing in Musculoskeletal therapy? We have a static band 5 MSK vacancies in our rapidly growing service working across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde. As a Band 5 MSK therapist you will work across Acute and Community based MSK clinics. This will help to provide the successful candidate with a broader experience of an MSK caseload across a range of health care settings.

Main duties of the job

The post holder should been interested in MSK with a willingness to learn. The service is looking to develop therapists in order to maintain the high level of service the trust offers. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic and have a flexible/adaptable approach to your work.

The successful candidate will be a valued member of the established MSK service.

Job responsibilities

An opportunity to develop and further skills within the Musculoskeletal service.

Provide a high standard of therapy in the most appropriate setting to Consultant and GP referred patients.

Undertake a defined patient caseload, working under supervision of senior staff members, although you will be expected to organise and manage your own workload.

Undertake an assessment of designated out patients.

Provide a diagnosis, discuss treatment options and agree a management plan with patients in order to achieve agreed set goals.

Complete Medical Records on a daily basis in accordance with established protocols.

Structured continued professional development ran in service both weekly and monthly in order to progress to band 6 level of working within 2 years.

We are a dynamic and progressive team, continuously seeking new ways of working, where research is actively encouraged. You will join a team consisting of a Consultant Physiotherapist, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, GP, Extended Scope Practitioners, Clinical Specialists and Physiotherapists supported with a good clerical and assistant team.

We host regular in service CPD sessions ran by experienced members of the team. Covering pathologies, treatment techniques and identifying issues where knowledge needs to be strengthened. You will be required to attend and contribute to team meetings. You must have a standard level of keyboard skills. You will be supported with a personal job plan offering protected time for personal development each week.
