Job summary
The Fylde Coast Community Dental Service is looking for an experienced Access Dentist to join our team.
The successful applicant will provide high quality urgent care and routine care to adults and children unable to access routine dentistry. Special Care and/or sedation experience ideal.
The vacancy is part time.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Dental Officer (SDO) will provide high quality care centered upon evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness. The post holder will ensure that patients unable to access routine dental treatment either due to their personal circumstances, medical condition or disability are assessed and able to access treatment services. Patients will be seen on an emergency basis and also to complete courses of treatment for those who cannot access routine dental care.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- Qualification allowing full registration with the General Dental Council as a Dentist.
- Completion of VT training or evidence of exemption.

- Postgraduate qualification
WORK EXPERIENCE/WORK HISTORY
Essential
- Experience of NHS primary care dentistry in a general dental practice, clinic, university or hospital environment
- 5 years experience of providing emergency dental treatment in a NHS Setting.

- Demonstrable experience of further oral surgery training and/or practice
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

- Computer literate, with routine word-processing and e-mail skills.
- Managerial skills
