Job summary

We are looking for a rehabilitation assistant to support the Speech and Language element of the Integrated Community Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Service on a 9 month fixed term contract.

As a Band 3 you will be required to take part in delivering a quality Speech & Language Therapy Service under the supervision and guidance of qualified Therapists. You will also work clinically alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide rehabilitative therapy for people who have sustained a stroke and other neurological conditions.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, competent interpersonal skills and and have an ability to engage & motivate service-users. They will need to be able to work autonomously, demonstrate good problem-solving skills & be a team player.

Main duties of the job

This role will provide you with the opportunity to support clients through rehabilitation to improve their independence, quality of life and avoid any unnecessary hospital stays, working with them in various settings within community including their own home, care homes, clinics etc.

Post holders will need to hold a drivers licence and have a vehicle available for work use as they will be required to travel across the service footprint.

Full time and part time hours considered.
