We are currently recruiting for an HR Advisor to join our team and support the HR manager/Business Partner in delivering a high quality, proactive and efficient Human Resources service to managers and staff within the Trust.

You must hold a CIPD qualification as detailed in the Person Specification. The post is full time (37.5 hrs) per week over Monday-Friday, as we provide support over a large geographical area in the Northwest, the ability to travel is essential.

Main duties of the job

The suitable candidate will need to demonstrate experience of providing expert HR Advice and have the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within the organisation. You would be responsible on behalf of the service for providing consistent advice and guidance on HR policies and support managers within the organisation in handling employee relations matters, therefore an up-to-date knowledge of employment law is essential. You will have the opportunity to support management in implementing organisational change programmes whilst the NHS is going through vast changes within a challenging economic climate.

Job responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Act as a fully participating member of the HR team supporting HR and liaising and developing effective working relationships with colleagues, both within the Human Resources and Organisational Development and across the other directorates.

  1. Responsible for providing Human Resource advice and assistance on Trust policies, procedures and best practice.

  1. Review and amend HR policies in accordance with legislative changes and presenting to policy forum.

  1. Be fully conversant with Agenda for Change terms and conditions to provide advice and support to managers and staff

  1. Support the HR Manager/Business Partner in conducting disciplinary and grievance investigations and sickness absence reviews

  1. Advise Managers on the management of sickness and absence, taking action as appropriate. Provide assistance to managers in compiling a management statement of case for a formal hearing and ensure the provision of all correspondence/documentation to the employee(s) involved within agreed timescales

  1. Support the HR Manager/Business Partner in managing and facilitating the effective resolution of all employee relations issues including the maintenance of the Case Management System, ensuring cases are created, maintained and closed in a professional and timely manner.

  1. Support Managers in developing and maintaining performance review systems, ensuring that staff are regularly appraised, have objectives and a Personal Development Plan

  1. Be an effective partner within reorganisation activity across the Trust. Promoting partnership working alongside managers to successfully implement change including redeployment where necessary.

  1. Undertake HR related assignments and projects as identified by senior colleagues as appropriate

  1. Attend and represent the HR Manager/Business Partner at meetings as required

  1. Work autonomously, on delegated work areas and where appropriate seek advice from senior colleagues

  1. Manage priorities and meet deadlines within a constantly changing environment. Deal with a wide range of issues requiring tact, diplomacy and persuasive skills
