CT Radiographer Band 6 /CT Training Post Band 5
The Radiology Directorate at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic CT Radiographer to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role would be a Radiographer with recent, proven experience/training within a CT Scanning Department who is competent to provide a wide range of CT examinations. Experience in IV cannulation would also be an advantage.
We will also consider applications from individuals who can demonstrate a high level of CT knowledge and a keen interest in CT Imaging to be placed into a Band 5 Training Post. Trainee radiographers will progress to Band 6 once competency to work unsupervised has been achieved.
This is a busy and rapidly expanding CT department with 4 Siemens CT scanners including a Somatom Definition Edge 128, Somatom go.Top, a 128 slice Definition AS+ and a 64 Slice Definition AS scanner. There are also plans for a dedicate emergency department scanner, which will be installed in early 2023.

Main duties of the job
You will be joining a fantastic team of Radiographers who provide a comprehensive CT service including specialist procedures such as CT Colonography, Interventional CT, Cardiac CT and CT head reporting.
As a tertiary cardiac centre we run 5-7 cardiac CT sessions per week and have role extended Radiographers supervising lists and administering beta-blockers. The successful candidates should hope to develop significant experience in cardiac CT.
Candidates would be expected to work flexibly on a rotational shift pattern to include day shifts, long days and night shifts.

- BSc in Diagnostic Radiographer or equivalent
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Evidence of on-going continuous professional development (CPD).
Desirable
- PgCert / PgDip in Medical Imaging equivalent to UK qualifiaction
- Intravenous Injection Certificate with an accredited body
- Evidence of attending study days / courses.
Experience and Skills

- Evidence of clinical competency and radiographic experience in General Radiographer and/or CT.
- Good knowledge of anatomy and pathology.
- Evidence of theoretical and clinical knowledge underpinning Radiographic practice (i.e. CPD portfolio to include pieces of reflective practice).
