CONSULTANT IN PALLIATIVE MEDICINE
BLACKPOOL TEACHING HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic consultant to join our award winning, supportive and forward thinking team. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver supportive and palliative care to patients of varying complexity across the acute trust and will have a key leadership role in continually improving and developing the services offered. They will work collaboratively with their colleagues across the Fylde Coast integrated specialist palliative care services with opportunities to in-reach into community and inpatient palliative care services depending on the interest of the successful applicant and service need.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will join consultant colleagues working across children's and adults services, hosted by Trinity Hospice Palliative Care Services in collaboration with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. The has moved to a 7 day service provided by a team of advanced care practitioners, specialist and associate specialist nurses and support workers who work alongside our community end of life team and Swan bereavement specialist support team.
About us
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals serves a population of approximately 350,000 residents across the Fylde Coast providing acute and community services, with tertiary haematology, cystic fibrosis and cardiac services for Lancashire and South Cumbria. It is a teaching hospital for the University of Liverpool and has a separate Research, Development and Innovation Division with close links to Lancaster University. Trinity Hospice is rated as Outstanding by the CQC and has Investor in People Gold accreditation. It is a research active hospice.
