The opportunity has arisen for us to recruit an experienced, motivated Neonatal Nurse to join our team at Neonatal Matron at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will lead our Neonatal Services and exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement and decision-making in clinical care. Through strong clinical leadership and effective management, the Matron will support the Neonatal Unit and Neonatal Outreach Service to promote and deliver excellence in care of the baby and their family maintaining and continually improve clinical standards and implement change in line with the National recommendations.
You will ensure that there are robust processes within Neonatal Services to enable leadership in quality improvement.
Our Neonatal Unit is a Level 2, Local Neonatal Unit. The 16 cots comprise of : 2 Intensive, 2 High Dependency and 12 Special Care. In addition there is a 6 bedded transitional Care unit situated within the Neonatal Unit, although transitional care is delivered within maternity if required. The unit is committed to achieving FiCare and BFI accreditation.
As a Trust, we recommend that individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Main duties of the job

As a Neonatal Matron, you will have experience in management and acting as a professional role model, to provide strong visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by our babies, their families and carers.
You will possess excellent organisational, communication and team working skills, and the ability to deliver high quality, holistic care with an emphasis on working in partnership with our families. You will support and empower the team to ensure patient safety, experience and clinical outcomes for baby and family is paramount.
