We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Midwifery - Maternity and Gynaecology to join our Divisional leadership team. We are looking for an experienced, responsive, transformational leader to drive forward the midwifery and nursing agenda at the Trust. You will hold professional accountability on behalf of the Executive Chief Nurse for the strategic direction, overall provision and management of the midwifery and gynaecology services.
- We are looking for someone who can lead strategic and innovative midwifery developments and improvements across Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and contribute to a system wide approach to delivering maternity transformation and the Trust's Governance agenda. This will include participating in the development of the midwifery education and practice development agendas in partnership with the Trust's Higher Education providers.
Main duties of the job
As the expert on midwifery and maternity issues both internally and externally you will ensure that a culture of proactive professionalism is embedded and promoted across the organisation and community services.
You will have lead responsibility for developing a culture that encourages innovation, creativity, and challenge in the interests of patient care and professional practice and will promote the development and maintenance of high standards of care that is family centred, sensitive and responsive to service users.
Your expertise and support in identifying drivers for change and opportunities for growing, improving and redesigning midwifery/nursing services and initiating strategic implementation plans are key to the success of the role.
