This job is now closed

Job summary

The Technical Services department within Pharmacy is looking for an enthusiastic registered Pharmacy Technician with an accuracy checking qualification for our new Outsourced Medicine Dispensary. The Outsourced Medicine Dispensary will be responsible for the dispensing of a range of ready to use, patient specific, aseptically prepared injections purchased from commercial suppliers. These will include cancer chemotherapy and monoclonal antibody therapies.

As a Trust, we recommend that individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in the establishment of this newly funded service including helping to plan work flows and storage solutions. Once the service is established the postholder will work closely with our Senior Support Workers to undertake the stock management, dispensing and final accuracy checking of these medicines.

This exciting new post also offers the opportunity to develop and maintain your aseptic skills by undertaking regular sessions in our Aseptic Unit. Previous experience of aseptics is therefore advantageous but is not essential as full training and support will be given.
