ACCOUNTABLE TO: Joanne Wild Therapy Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Cardiac in-patients & Cardiac Rehabilitation out-patients
HOURS OF WORK: 22.5Hrs Per Week
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join us in the Occupational Therapy & Cardiac Rehabilitation department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals . The post will involve working as part of the Cardiac therapy team covering the cardiology & cardiac surgery wards and the out-patient cardiac rehabilitation service.
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that has recently seen investment and is keen to develop and move services forward for the benefit of the patients. You will be required to take part in delivering a quality Occupational Therapy Service in balance with working closely with other members of the wards multi-disciplinary team to assess, treat and facilitate hospital discharge for patients following a cardiac in-patient stay. You will also be required to deliver education sessions and 1:1 interventions to enhance recovery for patients referred into the Cardiac Rehabilitation team.

The post holder is an autonomous practitioner, responsible for provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment, intervention and discharge planning of clients referred to the service.
Facilitate group and 1:1 cardiac rehabilitation education sessions
Has responsibility for managing a caseload of clients with a variety of complex conditions including chronic, disabling and life limiting illnesses.
Carry out assessment and prescription of equipment and adaptations.
