Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Medical Secretary to join and support Heath Street Health Centre within the PCCT Directorate.
The post holder will be responsible for all secretarial and administrative duties for the GP practice.The ideal candidate should be able to provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial service to the team and ensure records are kept up to date and accurate.
You should be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties. You should also hold relevant secretarial or audio typing qualifications to ensure you are successful to the interview stage.
You will be required to organise and prioritise your own workload and balance this with the demands of the role.
Knowledge and experience within the health sector would be beneficial.
Main duties of the job
- To provide full and comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to Heath Street Health Centre.
- Support the clinical team when required with dashboard validation and drafting of clinic letters/complaint responses.
- Prioritising and distributing post and taking action where appropriate by obtaining additional information or files.
- Drafting and typing correspondence, reports, memos, e-mails, minutes and other documentation as required.
- Develop a sound knowledge of the structure of the Directorate in order to distribute information correctly and communicate effectively.
- To co-ordinate both internal and external meetings and functions on behalf of the Service Manager, & Clinical Lead. Preparing and circulating agendas and relevant enclosures from information received, ensuring equipment is available and organising refreshments.
- To attend meetings and take, produce and circulate accurate, complex minutes.
- To deal appropriately with enquiries by letter, e-mail and telephone from staff, external parties and other departments.
