Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven person with excellent clinical and communication skills to Join the Medical Same Day Emergency care Unit (MSDEC ) at MMUH . This is an acute area for those with varying medical conditions, enabling a significant number of our patients who require emergency care to be managed safely the same day and without the need to admit into hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients have a planned timely transfer or discharge and that the patient's pathway is effectively managed, ensuring all patients have a positive experience of the MSDEC process. The clinical shift lead will be based in the medical SDEC working closely with the clinicians and nursing staff, ensuring that patients are proactively managed through the system, checking that key elements of the patient's pathway such as investigations, medications and transport are being requested in a timely way. The successful candidate will have proven interpersonal skills and acute medicine experience. You will be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and knowledge to support the team to deliver a high quality, effective and safe patient journey.
