Junior Specialist Doctor - Lower ( DERMATOLOGY)
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and hardworking doctor to join our Dermatology Department as Junior Specialist doctors at the Birmingham Skin Centre, City Hospital. The post will be for 4 to 8 months fixed term posts, starting as soon as possible. The post is aimed at junior grade Lower level (ie 2 to 3 years post qualification level) and whilst not an approved training posts we would endeavor to provide training opportunities. The Junior Specialist Doctor - Lower - Dermatology post will allow you to consolidate your experience in a supportive Dermatology environment, giving you wide ranging clinical exposure in a progressive Trust that has won numerous national and local awards. We would be keen to work with successful applicants and help you continue to build your Dermatology Career. We envisage that the JSD post would act as a stepping stone into specialty training as you continue to pursue membership exams.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates must have considerable experience - post qualification, full GMC Registration with a license to practice. Considerable hospital experience at Resident Doctor level or equivalent in dermatology is essential. Knowledge of the workings of the NHS is essential.
The post will include out-patient clinics at the Skin Centre along with weekly in-hours on-call duties. Attendance and presentation at board round, skin cancer MDT Biologics MDT and CPC is also required.
The Birmingham Skin Centre is based on the 3rd floor of the Sheldon block at the City Hospital site of the Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT). The Trust is an integrated careorganisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), has now opened and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. Our new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
