Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Obstetric Ultrasound service within SWB. The post holder will provide a high level of clinical expertise within Obstetric ultrasound providing advice, education and support to staff to promote best practice.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to perform and report on Obstetric Ultrasound is addition, they will be required to support the department to achieve the national standards To assist the service in achieving these key aims, this role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and effective service and in meeting the national targets set out in the service specification.

The post holder will liaise with DQASS, provide and monitor action plans, provide internal quality assurance through regular departmental audit and support. The role requires good communication between the ultrasound team, the Trust's antenatal and new born screening board, the screening laboratory, screening and immunisation lead and teams (SILS's) and the regional quality assurance team (RQAT). Maintain good record keeping.

  • Post Graduate Qualification in Medical Ultrasound
  • Current HCPC registration with evidence of on-going CPD

Desirable

  • Teaching and mentoring qualification

Experience

  • Significant experience at Band 7 or above/equivalent in specialty area
  • Extensive experience within Obstetric Ultrasound
