Job summary
Exciting opportunity for motivated and organised individuals to join our Acute medicine team as a Ward Clerk.
Working across 2 areas, the Acute admissions unit and our Short stay unit on Sandwell site and then the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital.
We are looking for an individual who is patient focused, has excellent administrative and communication skills, and is able to work well as part of an integrated team. The ability to prioritize and organize workloads working very closely with the nursing team and unit manager.
This post would suit a candidate who is proactive and able to work in a ward environment. The role is an active role supporting patient admissions and ward staff.
Experience in customer care and a similar position is desirable.
Willingness to learn UNITY.
You will undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship qualification during your employment.
Main duties of the job
To work with limited supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a clerical support service to medical and nursing staff at ward level. To display sensitivity and tact in dealing with patients and relatives.
To have a responsible outlook in order to cope with the unpredictable nature of ward activity, using prioritising skills and discretion to organise a daily workload to take account of deadlines and degrees of urgency.
