Job summary
The postholder will be a key member of the Logistics Team with responsibility for the receipt and distribution of Sterile Surgical Instrumentation and the collection and dispatch of used/soiled Surgical Instrumentation to and from all areas of Trust.
Main duties of the job
As part of a busy, unified, logistics function, the postholder will be responsible for the movement of sterile equipment within the Trust. There are a number of associate tasks, including ensuring that all instrumentation movement is recorded and scanned using the IT and inventory management systems. The postholder will need to help with ensuring that a complete, efficient and auditable stock control system is maintained

The postholder will be required to undertake a number of tasks on a daily basis, including:
- Day-to-day responsibility for the top-up of theatres, wards and departments with pre-determined pre-sterile single use items
- Delivering/collecting sterile equipment, used equipment and medical devices to and from all operating theatres, wards and departments
- Booking equipment both in and out of the Trust using the IT system.
- Indentifying and reporting any inaccurate or missing data
- Providing stock control information as required by the Theatres Scan4Safety and Sterile Services Lead and to inform them of any unusual trends in demands for supplies.
- Receiving and checking orders and deliveries for defaults, mistakes, incorrect quantities and poor/unacceptable quality.
- Maintaining stock, stores and distribution areas in a clean and orderly state to the agreed standards.
- Liasing with both customers and suppliers to deal with queries, complaints and requests as required
