Job summary

Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust is undergoing an exciting period of change, with the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital due to open in October 2024. Reporting into the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Operations Manager role will take on operational leadership and will have budget responsibility for managing a safe and efficient Logistics team at the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The Logistics Operations Manager will take lead on all areas of the logistics & warehouse functions by taking ownership of goods within the supply chain once procured as well as responsibility for the introduction of the new Logistics service. The post holder will oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that will support its optimisation. Activities supported by the Logistics Operations Manager will include Waste, Linen, Post, Non-patient-facing portering activity, sterile services, receipts and distribution and transport.
