Job summary

We have a unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about nursing education and development to join the Sandwell District Nursing Service as a Practice Education Lead.

Applicants should be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work. The ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritise work and deal with complex issues, are all essential criteria for this post.

We are interested in candidates, who have community nursing experience at senior level and are a current assessor who is able to assess Student Nurses and Specialist Practitioner District Nursing Students. You need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and mentoring skills and have a genuine interest in teaching and education while encouraging the implementation of innovative practice.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve locality cross-site working and the successful candidate will work in a model whereby they look after two District Nursing teams across the locality. The successful candidate will be visible and work within the team to support the District Nurse Team Leader operationally to ensure training and education needs are met throughout the team and new starters alongside established staff are supported. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside colleagues to roll out training and education at a quick pace with direction and support from locality Matrons and be expected to lead on projects.
