Job summary

The Community Medicine directorate is made up multiple medical specialties- Diabetes and Endocrinology, Dermatology, Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Rheumatology, Medical Infusions Service, Anticoagulation Service and Sexual Health. You will have specific responsibility for nursing across the directorate and take a lead on quality and safety. Our planned care specialties have had to work flexibly with some staff being redeployed as part of the COVID response. Since our colleagues have returned to their teams, our focus has been to recover and restore our services. Now, we look to redesign our services to contribute to and support in the delivery of SWBH's vision- to be renowned as the best integrated care organisation in the NHS.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for providing effective clinical leadership to the nursing staff within Community Medicine Directorate specialties. The post holder will be the focus for professional development issues for the directorate, maintaining a highly visible presence to staff and patients, acting as a role model. The post holder will ensure that high quality, evidence based, patient focused care is provided. They will take a lead on Quality and Safety reporting for the directorate including promotion of a learning culture and development of quality initiatives to improve the quality of care delivered and patient experience.
As a key member of the Group Management Team the post holder will ensure all National and Local objectives are met within the sphere of responsibility. With particular emphasis on ensuring best practice for infection control, improving clinical care standards, providing a clean environment for care delivery and ensuring patients are treated with dignity and respect.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of new roles and new ways of working that will enhance the service and the staff whilst ensuring that standards are maintained and developed.
