An opportunity has arisen for an 8a specialist pharmacist role to provide services to our cross site acute medical unit and Emergency Departments, with responsibility for pharmacy services to a regional Poisons Centre.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated pharmacist to deliver a high quality pharmacy services to this specialist area. The successful candidate will take the lead to manage and develop our Pharmacy services to acute medical patients across the Trust, as we prepare to move to one of the largest Emergency Departments in Europe as part of our move to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.
We are looking for someone with drive, enthusiasm and commitment. You will have excellent people skills and the ability to work with and influence staff at many levels.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you must be able to manage your own workload, direct & supervise others and work as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide high quality advanced clinical pharmacy services to key areas including the Acute Medical Units, Emergency Departments and the West Midlands regional Poisons Centre. This includes managing complex patients, financial budgets and formulary and policy development for the specialist area. In addition there is an expectation that the post holder will also contribute to core dispensary, weekend and on call services.
The post holder will also be required to work closely in partnership with the lead pharmacist for clinical services and rotational junior pharmacists to develop pharmacy services to ensure that patients across all sites receive high quality clinical pharmacy input.
As a senior pharmacist within the department, leadership of the clinical team and development and management of students and rotational pharmacists is required.

Robotic dispensing is well established and we have successfully implemented Electronic Prescribing and Administration throughout the Trust, we provide a seven day service to the Trust.
