Applications are invited for Education Fellowships supporting Undergraduate Medical Education at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBH).
We are looking for enthusiastic doctors with an interest in Paediatrics and Medical Education who wish to develop this area further as a Clinical Teaching Fellows (CTF)
Successful CTF candidates will be an integral part of the Undergraduate Teaching Academy to develop and deliver teaching to medical students in various settings such as tutorials, bedside and simulation lab.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be supported to complete a certificate in postgraduate medical education (PGCME) or equivalent during the post.
From September, 2020, SWBHT has taken Clinical Medical Students from Aston University (AMS) in addition to the University of Birmingham (UoB) Medical Students that have been attending SWB for many years. Clinical teaching will take place across all Trust sites, including Sandwell and City Hospitals and will also include the Midland Metropolitan Hospital when opened.
The post will suit doctors seeking to develop teaching skills and further their clinical interests before entering Specialist Training. CTF must have a minimum of four months postgraduate experience in working with children as a junior doctor.
This post is for one year, starting 11th September 2023. Successful candidates will work as a team to provide ward and simulation based teaching, as well as mentorship to small student groups. There will be some service provision such as on-calls which will make up a maximum of 40% of their time.
