Job summary
You will be working towards the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker or Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker apprenticeship, to meet the essential requirements of the personal specification.
Training will be provided in-house by the Apprenticeship team, within contracted working hours. The Level 2 apprenticeship programme will generally take upto 15 months to complete and the Level 3 up to 21 months to complete, including end point assessment. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU ALREADY HOLD LEVEL 3 HEALTHCARE QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENT.
Entry requirements: Development of English and Maths may be required dependent on current qualification and skill level. Please ensure you include all your qualifications on your application form - if not includedyou may not be shortlisted.

On completion of the apprenticeship programme and meeting the necessary work standard, this role will continue as an NHS Agenda for Change Band 2.
Main duties of the job
Dealing with enquiries from members of the public and health care professionals either over the telephone, face to face or email/text messaging.
Effective communication skills both on the telephone, in person, via email and text and use of interpreting services.
Chaperoning and assisting trained clinicians for consultation, examination and procedures.
Assist with collection of genital and blood specimens (venepuncture) as requested and ensure correct labelling, storage and safe transportation.
Undertake stock ordering, rotation and distribution to clinical areas.
Maintain cleaning of clinical areas on a daily basis to comply with infection control standards.
Completing a generic history and record accurately on our electronic system.
Manage own cohort of patients and undertake basic observations including blood pressure, height and weight and urine for analysis and pregnancy testing and record on our electronic system.
