Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at SWBH NHS Trust for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well established Therapy Team on our specialist OT rotational programme. This role would be suitable for both an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist looking to secure their first senior role, as well as those who have already worked at a Band 6 level who are keen to develop their clinical or leadership skills. If you are looking to develop your leadership and enhance broad clinical skills within a rotational setting, this is the role for you.
Our rotational program currently includes Acute Medicine, Stroke and Neurology, Intermediate Care Rehabilitation, T&O and Critical Care and Surgery. There is an ambition to further expand in the future. Your role as a Band 6 in these clinical areas will include an active involvement in working with the MDT to provide seamless assessment, treatment and discharge planning, dynamic development of the acute and community Therapy services, supervision of junior staff & student education within a supportive environment.
The Therapy services within SWBH are proactive in the development of both staff & service and are committed to training and CPD including provision of monthly Quality Improvement half days and specialist cross disciplinary education with regular appraisals & supervision.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will be highly motivated, intuitive, passionate and capable of delivering high quality and safe Occupational Therapy from a well-developed knowledge and skill base. Excellent communication skills, willingness to be part of an effective team, and a desire to continuously improve services are essential attributes.
Our services cover 7 days per week and the post holder will be expected to work regular weekends and bank holidays. Use of own car for business use is essential.
