This post could be filled by somebody who currently works in a different environment but is interested in a move into a clinical area, as full training could be provided. You will also be fully supported to complete the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will perform ECG's on patients in both the outpatient environment and the wards. They will also be required to fit all types of ambulatory monitors.

This is an exciting time to join our team, as we are expanding and improving our services. We are currently a dual site department, City and Sandwell hospitals, but also provide weekly clinics in the community. Our third site, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, will be opening in the very near future, providing three catheter labs and bringing together all acute services onto one site.

As an IQIPS accredited department, providing a high quality service for our patients and a work environment for staff where all members feel valued, is very important to us. You will be allocated a mentor to ensure that you settle in well when you first join our team and to ensure that you remain feeling well supported beyond that.

About us

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.

Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.

We have three newly emerging strategic objectives:

  1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
  2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
  3. Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives
