Job summary
Due to promotion of the existing post holder we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Pharmacy Technician with the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to lead our operational teams.
As a key member of our management team you will have significant hospital pharmacy experience, excellent people skills and the ability to influence and lead staff at many levels. Formal management training/qualification is desirable, while a keenness and ability to use knowledge, skills and experience to deliver an excellent patient experience is essential.
Applicants must be a Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Shortlisting will be based on the criteria of Person Specification (PS). Annex 21 of Agenda For Change would be considered for candidates who through the interview/selection process did not meet an appointable score but could be appointed in line with a developmental package. This would be discussed with the candidate as part of the recruitment process. If a development package is agreed the candidate would enter the post at 75% of top of Band 7 (£35,754) for 12 months and can progress onto the Band 7 pay scale (£41,659) upon successful completion of development package.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the operational management, co-ordination, performance and quality improvement of key service areas including; Dispensary, Procurement and Stores/Distribution.
They will have an integral role in the design and transfer of pharmacy services as part of the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) project.
