Specialist Pharmacist Medicines Information and Practice Research
Band 8a
37.5 hours per week + weekend and on call commitment
It is an exciting time to join our Pharmacy team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust! We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated pharmacist to lead on all things medicines information related, and develop our practice research agenda. The successful candidate will take the lead in managing and developing a quality assured Medicines Information Service, which also includes support to formulary services in the Trust, implementing decisions made by the Area Prescribing Committee, and promotion of the principles of Medicines Optimisation across the primary and secondary care interface. Equally fulfilling will be the Medicines Information support and training for clinical pharmacists to enable them to confidently and competently undertake their role.

About us
We are a progressive department and are keen to embrace innovative ideas. We have recently introduced a comprehensive Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration system in the trust and we continue to optimise our work flow processes to offer a high quality, safe and efficient pharmacy service to our patients. Within the next few years, we will be moving to our purpose built new hospital site and we are reviewing our service and activities to support this, including moving to a seven day working pattern for all pharmacy staff.
