Job summary
These are replacement posts, intended to maintain and develop the existing radiology service. The successful candidates will be general radiologists with Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (or equivalent) and be on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of their CCT at the time of interview. Wide training and experience in general radiology as well as experience in cross-sectional imaging is required. Experience in the required subspecialties is desirable to complement the skills of consultant group, however other subspecialties would be considered. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in training and supervision of junior radiologists allocated to the Department
Main duties of the job
The posts will include sessions at both Sandwell Hospital and City Hospital. The Trust will be reconfiguring its services in advance of the move to the Midland Metropolitan Hospital and the post-holder will be required to work at any of the Trusts sites, but with minimal cross site travel.
The department has established a DUTY radiologist in the working week, who is the main point of contact, with calls screened by a secretary, minimising interruptions in remaining reporting sessions.
