We are excited to invite applications for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established team at Medway and Swale Home Treatment Team/Rapid Response. Work directly with service users in their homes and communities, providing holistic and person-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

We are looking for an OT with:

A strong commitment to community-based mental healthcare.Excellent clinical skills and experience in assessment and intervention.The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build rapport with service users.A passion for continuous learning and professional development.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with service users referred to Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service.
  • To provide short-term specific psychosocial interventions for those who would benefit from crisis interventions.
  • To contribute to the planning and implementation of induction, training and education of students and staff.
  • To contribute to the delivery of specialist/ professional training packages of in-service training and staff development when necessary.
  • The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Training, qualifications and registration

Essential

  • A recognised OT professional qualification
  • Registration with the HCPC
  • Trained as a practice educator with experience managing learners in the work place
  • Two or more years post qualified experience

Desirable

  • Registered member of the relevant professional body and / or special interest group
  • Evidence of post graduate Development through formal postgraduate courses or experience

Experience

Essential

  • Experience in clinical practice, holding a range of experience within a variety of settings
  • Manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence based, service user centred, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.
  • Experience of delivering and clinical supervision
  • Experience of developing learners and staff in the work place

Desirable

  • Experience of being involved in service developments or audits

Knowledge and Skills
